[The device clicks on, and there's... America, standing in Hell's the kitchen. Only.. something looks oddly off about him. His eyes are flat, half opened and very lifeless, and he has this weird yellow glow to it. In fact, his entire body seems to be pale and with an odd dark tone to it, as if he was cast in shadows. The only thing that seems to ( Read more... )

[hey, that looks like a familiar figure. she approaches slowly, only catching the last bit.]

Take it up with the management. The temperature isn't really the biggest issue around here.

[America turns, and is all darkness and glowing yellow eyes at Anastia. He has this half sort of smirk expression on, though it's forced. He'll take a few steps toward her, head tilted at a curious angle.]

Really? I think it's unfair to the rest of us..

[this is, uh. slightly unnatural. she's going to be clutching the heavy candlestick she'd found on the floor, but not moving just yet.]

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but this place has never been about fair play. That's why we all complain so much.

Is it? [His expression neutrals further, and is just sort of.. yeah. Creepy.]

I think the problem lies.. elsewhere.

[There's a cocking noise, as he pulls out a pistol. He advances again.]

Like with your heart.

I don't know what you're saying. You should come here so I can hear you better.

[All you can hear is a sick gurgling sound as Kite tries to speak. Yeah, not helping much.]

[It's one thing to lose a friend. It's entirely another thing to come back from a search mission still lacking said friend only to find that the mansion went all bloody when you weren't paying attention. Bad detective, BAD.

This is Robin's worried face, America. He hasn't quite seen the fact that just about everyone he knows is all ghastly like this.] What kind of event are they pulling on us now?

Robin...

[And to say he 'missed you', he's approaching you quickly, with glowy eyes and a raspy voice.]

It's a scary one, Robin. We need to stick together...

[Oh. OH. It's an event like that. He'll be keeping a comfortable distance until he knows for sure America's still America under all the Creepy.] Scary in what way? Say more.

[Sure, want to talk? Fine. He's watching you like you're on the menu, Robin. Glowy eyes of capitalist doom.]

Monsters. [If dead pan could show traces of amusement, he does right then and there.] I'll protect you, Robin. I'm the hero.

[ hell's kitchen is actually a pretty nice place. Not the best place in Manhattan, but it's better than Alphabet city. And because my imagination is not as it usually is, England's in the kitchen for some unknown reason this late, but he doesn't catch the beginning of America's words. And since it's only America and because he's more preoccupied with finding crap in the fridge, he doesn't take notice of America's state just yet. ]

Put a jacket on then, arse.

[Oh, awesome. Of course. Especially since America's obviously off his rocker right now and is suddenly standing right behind him, because that's not creepy at all. Or the hissing. Or the glowing yellow eyes.]

I don't think that'll help, Iggy.

[ hell yeah. And while he'll admit it's a creepy sight, it was just Halloween and since nothing happened on day of, England was expecting something. ]

Nothing will help you if you continue to use that nickname. And if you haven't realised, you're a day too late.

[And he grins. Which is just weird, because it's just.. well..]

Never too late. [He hisses dully, eyes glowing and staring down England like he's the biggest cheeseburger ever. He's going to try to grab him with his cold shadowy hands once he's close enough. Feed meeee. Obviously the fate of all capitalist nations is to feed off the other's hearts]
