[You might have seen her explosion on Winry in her post the other day. You might have seen/heard about her offer to take your daughter shopping too. But the tone here is humble (or tries to be), and well. She figures she should give him heads up, even if she's not giving it to Winry]

...Hey, Mr. Hughes. I'm coming over to your place tonight- so if you see someone going in later in the evening, it's not a murderer or anything.

[She tries to sound humble but she's so tense it just ends up sounding curt]

[ Ah, indeed. For once, he won't pry into this business with all his best efforts- there are a lot of things people have to deal with right now. A lot of serious business. He keeps his tone mild and tension-free for great off-setting justice. ]
