That mix is awesome. If I wasn't so busy soaking in the PD soundtrack, I'm sure I'd be listening to it on repeat right now. It's weird, but I don't know any HIMYM fans IRL either, which is why I MUST get my family hooked on it over break.
"the ONLY downside is that all the people I talk to are spread (quite literally) over the globe, which means I can't meet them IRL." It is unfortunate indeed :( But who knows what can happen, right? You just may end up meeting one some day!
Unlike Ms. Phoenix, I'm lucky to have my RL best friends as big fans too, but sadly none of them write.
My friends *like* HIMYM, only because I force them to watch it, which isn't the same as the spontaneous perving and uber-geek knowledge that I get with you guys.
Saying that - my BFF sent me a Christmas Card today which says "Have an Awesome Christmas" on the front, and she's written inside "And a legen-waitforit.... dary! New year"
So I guess that I've mindwashed her quite well! :D
You definitely should post it. One can never get enough awesom.
And yeah, you get a win for being into HIMYM like a sensible person would be. British TV is killing me by not showing Season Three. They aren't even giving the fandom a chance to grow in the UK. Grrr.
Yet they are bang up to date with Big Bang Theory...

You are only too right! I think I have at least one local-ish friend I can spaz with over my favorites (Pushing Daisies, Doctor Who, QI, Scrubs, Firefly, Top Chef), but none of them care much for Big Bang Theory or HIMYM. They mostly put up with my geeking out, and they've been peaches about tolerating my NPH obsession, but not much beyond that. I think I'm converting one or two to HIMYM because they're fans of Dr. Horrible (my reasoning being 'how can you pass up more Neil?!'), but it's a slow process.
That being said, look on the bright side: at least there are people somewhere in the world willing to spazz just as much with you.
Oh! And good luck getting your tickets changed. I am quite envious!
>my reasoning being 'how can you pass up more Neil?!'
I know. You'd have thought so. I have *one* friend who has sought out Neil on her own and found Law and Order and I've VERY proud of her. She's seen every HIMYM and Doctor horrible in about two weeks. We may have a convert, peoples!

That is a major bright side.
Major bright side! *salutes*

It's going to cost me hundreds of pounds though. Bloody tennich hurting his back. Evil sod.
The only real life person I know that watches HIMYM is my boyfriend Charles. And he doesn't count.
We both discovered HIMYM on accident. I saw the season 1 and 2 being sold used very cheap (only cost me like... 30 bucks for both seasons) so I bought them. I had just watched Dr. Horrible so I was beginning my Neil crush. I figured that with the reviews I heard in passing that it was a series to check out.
We both devoured the entire two seasons in 3 nights. :) Then we began to download season 3. I still haven't bought the season 3 yet but I will.
I totally understand your lack of friends being involved in it without you forcing them. Sometimes Charles and I sprout HIMYM quotes and no one gets them. It makes me sad, especially when they are the really good ones.
I am lucky in my choice of life partner too because he'll sit and watch the episodes with me as I download them each week. Bless him.
I'm much in the same boat as you. Loved Doogie as a teenager but never really caught up with Neil again until HIMYM (not living in the US) and then only as a vague interest. It was Doctor Horrible (I'm a HUGE Joss fan) that made me obsessed with him. I was writing Horrible fanfic while buying the HIMYM DVDs (season 3 - they had never showed it on UK TV) from the net and I've never looked back.
*sigh*
Oh Neil... Neil... The hours of happiness your cheekily little face (and buff body) has given me.
and I get my quotage out of my systme on here. It's cathartic. :D Don't know what I'd do without you guys.
I'm trying to think what you would call it. The bonnet is the "hood" of the car, I suppose. The release leaver is the thing you yank to make the hood come up a bit, so you can scrabble around under the crack to get the lever to open it up. then you stare at the engine as if you know what the hell you are doing (if you are me!)
>Haha, "Encino" Man. I was watching this old episode of Futurama last night with my brother and they unfroze Pauly Shore in the future and it made me really happy.
I really must watch that. Mike and I still quote "fruit group, meat group, wheezing on juice" etc etc. Love that film.
