HIMYM, Blu-rays and Shame

Oct 07, 2011 22:57

I hate being one of those sad people who never updates their journal then spends ages apologising about it because they're too busy. But rest assured that I haven't suddenly got myself a life. Let's talk about stuff.

HIMYM, DVDs and TV... )

Season 6? I don't even have anything besides Seasons 1&2 anymore. /shame

Mmmmm, BluRay. Gotta admit, I'm too cheap for it right now, but I love the high def rips that are floating around everywhere. ;)

Shame? Admit it, you just wanna see it for the full frontal shots. :P

Haha, true, I only really want to see Fassdong.

And most of the time, the HIMYM DVDs can be a bit lightweight but this season is more worth it. You get decent commentaries, deleted scenes and a gag reel. I recommend it.

I'm saving up for the HIMYM Season 6 DVD, because I'd love to get it! The extra commentries sound awesome, and I'm also curious about why they cut out the scene about Barney apologising. It would have been the sweetest but most heartbreaking scene ever (and not to mention have lots of "awww" effect on the audience)!

Yay on getting the blu-ray player! It sure is pretty :-) And enjoy the X-Men Kit!

I think queuing for the ticket will be worth it, especially if you're so looking forward towards it. Plus, you could camp outside the night before, like Lily and Robin did at the bridal shop. Just hope that a car alarm won't go off! ;-)

The thing with Barney apologising is when he's pretending to call his Dad as a lesson to Marshall about how to approach his "sperm not working" (I think it's Bad News?) and is supposed to be funny, but is genius. I so wish they'd left it in.

My Blu-ray disk of X-men arrived! It's VERY sexy indeed.

I'm going to see what the queues look like for Shame. If they are redonkulous then I won't bother. I just wish I could know I definitely have tickets.

I totally picked up Season 6 (meaning that S5 is the only one I don't have) and like you, I was super excited about it. :) The extras are definitely awesome.

As for this season of HIMYM, I've been enjoying it quite a bit. Also, judging by the comments sections on barneyrobin every Monday, I don't think the fandom is dying.

Yeah, I do check the discussion on barneyrobin but it's hard for me because by the time I see it, everybody has gone to bed so I can never be a part of it. The time difference was always a nightmare in HIMYM fandom.

But what's really noticable is the lack of fic in the fandom. Maybe it's just a natural dwindling, after all, the series has had some bumps in quality over the last few years?

You definitely need to get to the video store and buy X-Men: First Class, for it is awesome. I still get a thrill rewatching it.

But anyway, I didn't notice that Robin's hair got better. I haven't even bothered rewatching the laters episode yet! That's terrible, isn't it? It's just there's been so much great new telly distracting me.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing massively wrong with the latest HIMYM, it's just that I haven't felt much of a connection with it in the last couple of weeks. And I haven't actually laughed much.

I'm waiting for HIMYM Season 6 DVD to arrive. I have miss your recap/thoughts on each episodes. So far I enjoy season 7 - so far so god. Only thing is that I think Ted at times is a bit boring.

I'm looking for a new DVD or blu ray multi region player. The old one, is almost dead! So where did you get hold of it?

I might recap again if there's an episode that really makes me laugh, but I think that's the problem. The episodes are okay, they're not offensive or anything, it's just I've not been laughing.

I got my Blu-ray player from ebay.co.uk - there are a bunch of small electronic shops that chip them to play multiregion for DVD and on the Blu-ray side, which you need!
