Awww! I love this take on Garbage Island!
And that was TOTALLY what happened! He was sooooo going up there to sleep with Robin until she yelled at him and made him do otherwise! That's canon now, I'm sticking with it! XD

And imaging little Barney all dreamy and ADHD is soooo adorable! :)

I honestly think it's the one personality trait that has defined Barney his whole life. He's a dreamer! He was one as a kid, he was one as an idolistic student, and he is one now. Bless him and his short attention span. But I do think he really does love Robin.

Awww, Barney. *pets him* I loved this little glimpse into what's going on in his head. And I love how you used "school" in this context, that Robin makes Barney feel like a kid being scolded, plus the mention of his math teacher and how Barney's always had a short attention span. And I think it was my heart that swelled at the end with Barney being so happy that Robin believes in him, despite knowing him like she does.

And congrats on finishing the fanfic100 challenge! I would make you a banner but I'm horrible at stuff like that.

Thank you. I really do think that Barney behaves like a little boy a lot of the time, so once my brain went down that route, the story flowed naturally!

Anyway, this just made me make a little awww face for Barney!

And this: Him and Robin - they were never that innocent. But that was more due through nurture than nature: Shitty Dads, embarrassing pasts, a problem with authority, a deep-seated need to slack off whenever the occasion arises. In so many ways, they are just so similar.

But the timing just isn’t right.

EXACTLY. This is exactly the issue, I think. Can't wait for when the timing is right, you know? Just a lot of growth has got to happen before that.

This was very much in character for Barney, and I can certainly see this as canon- asking for Nora's number as a coverup for his real intentions when Robin yelled at him. The glimpse of Kid!Barney was spot on and I love the phrase "moon man language."

I love "Moon man language" too! And listening to Neil in the latest podcast, it's interesting to see how many layers he reads into Barney, especially about Barney's propensity to sabotage himself. So I feel even more justified in writing this fic!
