It's funny how your brain suddenly doesn't know the way from A to B. How, in the moment after you hear that your friend's been shot, your mind decides to do a dump of unconnected thoughts, right into your frontal lobe.

For a moment I got this chilling feeling that Robin was the one who shot Barney or something wack like that but I'm past that now. And Robin >> literally guns a-blazing << is an awesome image and crap, I'd kind of be scared of her... yet they're right, she'd kind of be useless.
Stupid Barney, being so nonchalant about everything! Although he's kind of adorable all doped up. Weird how he called them... wouldn't the hospital call Ted as the emergency contact before?

I suggest you write it? It's an awesome plot bunny.
But yeah, what is happening with Barney will all be hopefully be revealed. I'm just trying to keep the story at the same pace, and quite low key in a lot of ways, with the emotions coming from Marshall's pain. I don't want to spin off into anything too melodramatic if I can help it.
