The PSA was fab. I think NPH's bit was the most personal and genuine. I honestly don't understand how there are still people in this world that have the gall to deny something as beautiful as love. Love is love, period. It thoroughly boggles my mind, and every time I hear of anti-gay legislations or hate crimes, I just want to roll up into a little ball in the corner and cry. Or scream. Or any number of confused, crazy, mixed-up reactions. God, I wish I could vote in the state of California.
Yeah, it seems inconcievable but there's a whole generation who just don't get homosexuality. My parents are definitely within that generation. Genuinely, I just don't think they get it. They equate being gay with being perverted. My husband's Dad even thinks (without any irony or shame) that he wouldn't let our gay cousin look after the grandchildren. What's he going to DO? Just because he's GAY he's some kind of peado????
It's very, very depressing that a friend of mine just told me that in the election opinion polls, gay rights is practically at the bottom of the list as an issue that people would vote on. Perhaps the more that we talk about, the more people will be educated and the more we'll raise awareness.
Also, I'd like to hope that, if the Yes vote goes through, Neil and David would do the decent thing and come and live in the UK where they can get their full human and legal rights. ;)

How do you fight that kind of prejudice? Sheesh.
