It was definitely a fun and compelling episode and I can't wait until next week!
And I think I've got my dad secretly hooked now. He says he's just recording it for me or that he'll be going to bed in ten minutes...but whenever I watch it at home, he always manages to stay up and watch it with me.
Yay for you, getting your Dad hooked. I seriously need to rewatch this episode. It was MEGA! It's just getting so hard to write Fic around Dollhouse when Dollhouse itself is really amazing.
Caroline's boyfriend is Alpha. So there was plenty of him. DUH! (i think. all in my head. like my DeWitt theory)
I DON'T LIKE CAROLINE. I'm not sure if it's the way the character's written, or Eliza's portrayal of her in this episode, but SHE'S REALLY UNBELIEVABLE. Constantly going "ROSSUM IS EVOL" and "Oh those poor animals! I have to save the poor animals at the risk of my life!" and then suddenly telling whats-his-name to leave the camera when he could've EASILY retrieved it and he ended up shot anyway...
Victor and Sierra <3 So good to see them out and about together like that! Squee
( ... )
> I need to watch this AWESOME EPISODE AGAIN!!! Agreed. There was too much good stuff, especially when Topher touched DeWitt and their conversation went gradually wackier! (oh wait, Topher touched DeWitt. Is it just me or were there some sparks there? lol)
Oh my God. Everyone being stoned was awesome. Although, and this might be me, I thought everyone sounded EXACTLY like River Tam.
Boyd was definitely affected at the beginning, but he managed to calm down. And then be badass.
Sierra's flashback was so sad, though. :( And I really want to know how she and Victor got into the Dollhouse. And I want to see that Sam guy again (and also more Sierra/Victor cuteness, but whatever. I'll take what I can get).
But Caroline kind of ignored me. I know that Joss has a thing for breaking idealistic characters, but really? Animal rights?
Anyway. Fun episode. DeWitt and Topher need to interact more often.
"I wasn't quite sure how quickly people got over the effects. DeWitt and Topher were quite lucid a lot of the time."
I think it affects different people to different extents. And Topher did say that the effects would wear off. Boyd just recovered faster because he was focusing on playing the piano, whereas Topher and DeWitt were just goofing off.
"They really are the best pairing. Adore them."
They are, aren't they? :D I kind of want an AU/missing scene type deal where they had sex while high.
>I wonder if they reuse the doll names once the original doll finishes their contract, only way I'll allow the slip of using the doll name Foxtrot heh.
I assume they do reuse. I'm terrified of them calling Sam either Whiskey or Zulu. Damn!
This season just gets better and better every episode.
Sorry for the late reply was busy with classes. I consider it a slip as I consider the videos and files at rprimelab.com as the background canon. To me it would be like if he had said Alpha.
But the more I've thought about it since, it was years since Foxtrot from rprime was referenced as that particular person, so of course with the Dollhouse now in full swing and the whole debacle behind them, no reason not to use Foxtrot as a doll name now.
Topher and Dewitt were definitely my favorite part of this episode. I found the Echo story line really boring too. I mean I guess it was important for the overall story, but next to the stoned adventures, I couldn't care.
I was curious as to why they showed us a flashback of Victor's previous life (Assuming) but showed us Sierra in her post-Doll state.
Yeah, I was wondering why Sierra saw Doll-stuff. But for my story I just had both Barney and Robin flash to when they weren't dolls! Easier that. I'm not quite sure how the drug works. I think it's flobotnom.
I think Topher might've said something about them reverting to traumatic or personally difficult memories -- maybe her rape as Sierra was more traumatic (or possibly just more recent) than whatever happened in her previous life? Because Mellie flashed back to what is presumably her imprinted state, with Paul, and Victor and Echo flashed back to what we can assume was their previous life. I think they're just blurring the boundaries between their real selves, their blank state, and their imprints.
>I think Topher might've said something about them reverting to traumatic or personally difficult memories
Yeah, that's what I picked up for my story. Barney got it right between the eyes whereas Robin got something more mild but more uncomfortable, which lingered into her dollstate.

And yeah, I hated Caroline's animal liberation tendencies. What was all that about?!?!
I loved Dominic's "Damn you Topher" when Victor revealed he was NSA. HAHAHA! In your face Dominic!
I need to watch this AWESOME EPISODE AGAIN!!!

Hehe. God, yes they did!

He confused me. I wasn't quite sure how quickly people got over the effects. DeWitt and Topher were quite lucid a lot of the time.

So do I! I'm far more interested in them than in bloody Echo.

At least it wasn't signatures for a homeless shelter. ;-)
