First, I just wrote the nasty fight at the end of the book! I just have to fill in a little end-matter and Letters to My Nemesis will be a done draft. I'm squealing inside!

Day 7

Make a mini-list of books that show cases your reading at its most eclectic (up to 5)

The Princess Diaries
Middlemarch
The Bartimaeus Trilogy
Women Who Run With The Wolves

Love love love Bartimaeus. I think I'd add The Demon's Lexicon to that sort of fantasy list, though. They definitely reminded me of each other.

And you'd put Harry Potter with Meg Cabot? Granted, I'm not a Meg Cabot fan at all, but I don't think Harry Potter's that fluffy.

My list:

The Ordinary Princess by M. M. Kaye
Long May She Reign by Ellen Emerson White
The Places You'll Go (or most Dr. Seuss books, really, like On Beyond Zebra, Green Eggs and Ham)
The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner

Well, if you don't like a thing, I can see how comparative fluffy ratings may be hard to agree to. XD

Since I'm trying for an "eclectic" picture here, I'd say Princess Diaries is at the far end of that particular branch, and I have very few things on that par on my shelves. But yeah, I wouldn't put Harry Potter that much further up on the weight scale...it may deal with heavy issues and serious themes, but in a way that still fits with it's rating.

Demon's Lexicon and Magic or Madness and Margaret Mahy are all up there with Bartimaeus, for sure. I was trying to not make more lists from each book I mentioned, because really. I could go on all night.

I've only read Oh The Places You'll Go in your list... wanna try and sell me on one of the others, for fun? 6_6

Oh, I'll tell you about all of them and then you can pick the one that sounds most you and read it (or, you know, you can read them all ( ... )

I think I'll probably be trying all of them as I can!

If I know someone really passionate about a book it's easier to pick it up and check them out...
