There are quite a few new peeps on my flist, and some other people were doing this, and I said to myself, "Self, this is a really good idea

I'm shy. Sometimes painfully so, and it's hard for me to be comfortable around new people. I tend to hang back and listen to everyone else. I used to be a lot more outgoing, but things change, y'know?
you and me both, babe. i was never the *most* outgoing girl in the room, but i wasn't such a wallflower, either, until fairly recently. and as convenient as it would be lay blame for that on a certain someone, i gotta accept a certain amount of responsibility for it, too.
i think my point was that there's always room in whatever corner i'm hiding hanging out in. ♥
Yeah, I was never the most outgoing, but I managed to hold my own. I blame a lot of it on my ex, as that was an extremely emotionally abusive relationship and it wrecked my self-esteem. However, I know that part of it's my fault as I let it happen.
I shall join you in the corner, and we'll make fun of the rest of the fandom. *snuggles*
It happened to me. Every single medical exam I had through high school and after tagged me at 5'9". Then, around 27 or so, I realized that my jeans weren't as long as they had been. I thought they'd shrank in the wash until we measured me and I was 5'10". I was all o.O
But then, my growth has always been weird. I grew 6" in one year and spent most of a school year on crutches due to problems with my knees because of it.

Yeah, thats me too. I was thinking the other day how different I was when I was younger. I was really talkative and had no problem striking up a conversation with anyone about anything and now I can't even imagine doing that.
I was the exact same way. My sister used to tease me about being a flirt. Now, though? I say "hi" and then kinda flounder for something else intelligent to say.
As I'm one of the newbies around here everything was quite new to me - and interesting. I usually shy away from asking questions just out of curiosity, thus this is a very welcome post *nods*.
I guess it doesn't come across online. But in person? Yeah. I have the hardest time making conversation with people I don't know. It drives Brenda crazy.

Crazy you grew an inch, wish I would grow an inch taller!
And I am just amazed that you are shy because that is not something I ever envision when I think of you -- talent, big heart, laid back, and lively.
