I am *so* glad you said this, because I thought I was the only one who felt that way. I don't hate her either. Physically, I think she is a quite lovely person. I just didn't particularly care for her portrayal of Eowyn, especially in TTT. It seemed that every time she was called on to convey a strong emotion it was expressed by her bugging out her eyes. Quite distracting, but I suppose one could incorporate it into a LOTR drinking game of some sort.
I'm with you too. I had such high hopes for Eowyn...she seemed to have a lot more promise as a strong female character than that sniffly elf-princess...but instead all of her energy seemed to become focused on smushy love-moments and crying. When actors like Ian and Viggo were working together, the screen practically crackled. With her...nothing. It was highly disappointing.
Jo, I love you...wendyrDecember 18 2003, 19:32:28 UTC
You're not alone, sister. LOL Not only do I think Miranda is a horrid actress, she's simply TOO FUCKING OLD to play Eowyn. Completely miscast, but I suppose they can be forgiven since they did such a wonderful job with the rest of the cast.
Now, it needs to hurry up and be Saturday so I can go see the movie! *bounces*
And thanks for the warning about Elrond crying. I need to go stock up on Kleenex before I go.
