Week 8 -- Chiaroscuro

Mitchel leaned back in his seat, crossing one leg over the other as he held Jazz’s proposal in one hand, the fingers of the other performing a listless dance on the arm of his chair. Jazz remained standing, both of his hands hidden within his pockets as he caught his bottom lip between his teeth. He barely breathed, watching Mitchel’s face for any ( Read more... )

I truly envy your ability to write so long. You know your characters, the intimate relationship you have with each is apparent and takes your work to a deeper psychological level in which the reader wants to partake in this story that you are telling to yourself.

Awww. Thank you. <3

These three have grown and changed so much lately, it's a little daunting, sometimes.

I still don't really have words yet besides, "this is really good," but. You should be proud. <3

You do such a great job with your characters, the politics involved in the plot, and your ability to hold a reader's attention. Well done!

Thank you. :) It was a much longer piece than I ever really mean to post for Idol but I knew it wasn't going to be done the "right" way if shortened into a more reasonable size. xD So I'm glad it held your attention!

I didn't expect the crossover with Sarah's universe to be so far along-- and I'm kind of feeling bad for Wes, now!

I DID guess that you would use this prompt for this universe, though, and as the antithesis of reality-- that hardly anything is ever black or white, but rather some shade of gray where neither side is completely right OR wrong. Decisions would be a heck of a lot easier if not for that pesky truth about reality in general!

It technically isn't, because this is actually the result of recent brainstorming between the two of us and not anything that either of us have written up to. And Wes is just fine -- he and Devin are together, too. Though he isn't exactly a fan of Jazz (for many a good reason, too).

Yeah, I couldn't resist this universe though there are several others I could have played with (Ryan's Natural-Born 'verse, Jordine and Li...). But reality is a very pesky thing and well, Jazz demanded I write this part now instead of waiting until I'm on the third book... So I listened, for once. :)
