Sorry, it was late. Yes, I meant his commonplace book: Sur plusieurs beaux sujects. I think I kept that book for nearly a year without returning it (and only renewed it once). By that time, it felt like mine; I meant to purchase a copy but didn't run across one.
As far as daybooks, they can be expense ledgers, but they can also be journals, diaries, etc. Still, would be fun to see Stevens's expense ledgers, wouldn't it?
Ah, just found a copy of his commonplace book for $12. That's cheap enough.

His commonplace book, Des plusieurs beaux sujets? I thought daybooks were expense ledgers. Surely they wouldn't print those even for Stevens!
There's a page or so of snippets from Sujets in the Library of America volume, if you can't locate a copy.
