It's taking me years of fic, and a dip into role playing, to finally face the truth that I should have realized well before:

I'm gently laughing with you, merely because I feel you :) Which came out wrong. But once upon a time I found myself with that same realization and a gift deadline for a requested smut-fic and panic ensued and then quite a few days of panic, and I think I sort of worked through it but what I can offer, the only thing I can offer, is that maybe when you think it's gone benign and less erotic that's no actually an issue, the "benign" aspects are a boon, not a curse, and you are so amazing as an author that the result is so much more satisfying to a reader than what you think you ought to be able to write, were you someoneone else and not the uniquely amazing author you are?
