Doesn't it bother you to talk poorly about clients on a website that anyone can read, including your clients. Shouldn't that sort of thing at least be hidden behind a wall that only friends have access to, or is that too logical.
No. Because I would have said much the same to the client. I would have told them what I felt was wrong with the ad. It is wrong for them. It is a blatant rip-off of a famous campaign. It doesn't do anything to establish a brand. It doesn't say anything about what makes them different. It isn't going to increase any sales figures. If they want to run print ads, they need to give their agency a reasonable amount of time to develop the correct messaging and build solid work for them. While any PR is good for getting their name out there, this ad goes about it the wrong way. It is partly my job to guide them to the right kind of work. This idea was already given to the client by a friend, not someone with experience. But this isn't anything new to me or anyone that does something similar to what I do. Bad decisions get made all the time. You just wait for the right opportunity to get good one's through. I'm disappointed that I didn't get the opportunity to present my ideas.
