I heart you more than words can say :)

P.S. I have an unabridged OED sitting right here that'll do the trick nicely, should you choose a violent recourse.

OMG you have an unabridged OED?? Isn't it like 20 volumes and costs a scrillion dollars?! *is drooling and jealous*

It turns out that it's not really her call on the spelling (Convenient; passing the buck, really), it something dictated by some APA (?) manual of style for theses, which, she was very clear on, are "totally different from journal articles, and I shouldn't be relying on journal articles for style anyway!" (Pft, I did, I used J. of Marine Biology format for my bibliography.) Unfortunately, I am a bit energy-less in the "FIGHT THE MAN" department right now, else I would write these "manual of style" people and ask them what the shit is their deal that they feel the need to introduce errors into a document I've spent the better part of the past two weeks painstakingly editing all the errors out of. Nitwits.

HAHAHAHAHA, well... I did manage to get much of it straightened out. I do have to suck up the 'acknowledgment' misspelling, though, because that comes from a moron higher up the chain of command.

Why it's taken a freaking GRAD STUDENT to point out this issue is beyond me, but maybe others have pointed it out before and it's gone ignored.

:D

Evidently, the "acknowledg(e)ments" thing is from some higher up manual of style for theses, but even if it is higher up it's still stupid.
