Well, the 2009-2010 series, Kamen Rider DCD, just aired yesterday. My thoughts? Well... for some reason, the words "acid trip" was in my head. I mean, really, Tsukasa being thrown from dimension to dimension? Tsukasa meeting Kamen Rider Kiva's Wataru, and Wataru walking upside-down? YEAH, if Tsukasa was being realistic he'd probably be considering ( Read more... )

lol Toei's thing for incest. I actually (MASSIVE HUGE SPOILERS FOR DEN-O) kind of shipped Hana and Yuuto before the whole thing with the... thing. Why are they so unable to write normal family interaction?

The thing with Wataru walking upside down made me go "what on earth" at first but now I think it's meant to symbolise his vampiric origins? Because of bats hanging upside down and whatever. Or I could be reading waaay to deep into what is essentially a kids' show. :/ But yeah, he was acting bizarre in this. I mean, he got quite confident towards the end of Kiva but not that confident.

Also, why are there nine other worlds? Shouldn't there be eight? Den-O and Kiva apparently took place in the same dimension, if you've ever seen that one movie (Kamen Rider Den-O & Kiva: Climax Deka). There was no dimension jumping!THANK YOU, THIS HAS BEEN BUGGING ME EVER SINCE DECADE WAS ANNOUNCED. Agito and Kuuga must take place in the same world too, since Kuuga is mentioned in Agito. And there's a weird Agito-Ryuki connection too, with Agito ( ... )

YEAH, and the Taiga × Wataru thing! It was so slashy. "I will love Wataru!" and the dramatic hug on the bridge with the orchestra and everything.

Wataru was so different it was like whoa. I get the confidence thing but I've never really seen him as that much of a sagely character like with Otoya.

Oh, those silly writers at Toei. This was one of the biggest inconsistencies they've ever made. :/

Trippy episode indeed. Not sure what to what to think since these kind of shows always turn out so different from what I expect. @_@ At least it was kind of cool to see Faiz again. Haven't watched Fuuma no Kojirou yet but I recognized Murai Ryouta as that wimpy detective from Climax Deka. :3

There's some spoilers out already and it looks like a lot of things will be changed with the Kiva world. Seto Kouji won't be Kiva but some little kid. In the alt. Kiva world humans and fangires live together and Wataru is the prince. And Megumi is his girlfriend and she tranforms into Saga. :O I wish I had saved the scan! There was a girl!Kivat bat thing that I assume Megumi uses to transform into Saga.

YEAH, I KNEW HE WAS THE DETECTIVE GUY TOO SINCE I HEARD PEOPLE SAYING THAT. I thought he... oh. Guess I was looking at the wrong cast listing. :3 You should totally watch Fuuma no Kojirou though; it's really good (and awfully sad).

I saw the magazine scan! A little kid version of Wataru! And huhhh, Megumi is Wataru's GF?! Ehhhh. But if she becomes Saga I can live with that.

I also saw the girly Kivat-bat! I can't wait to see her. She's so cute!

YES! MURAI RYOUTA AS KUUGA! How awesome is that? :D But yeah the first episode was really good. I’ve been humming the theme song all day - gosh I LOVE it.

The cast of Shinkenger kinda interests me. Heard of Aiba Hiroki from those Prince of Tennis musicals that were popular. I’m curious to know what Sentai series are like compared to Rider ones.

Did you see him in Climax Deka? He was hilarious and his story was touching.

I like how this year's upcoming sentai will not have the characters dressed in uniforms. The past sentai series, all of them had uniform jackets and everything (i.e. in Gaoranger, Tetomu gave them special jackets with their emblems; Hurricanger it was part of their school uniform; Abaranger the guy who runs the curry shop made it for the team; Dekaranger it was their police uniform... etc.)

Sentai series tend to be less serious than the KR series and also has more exaggerated acting. The stories are also more light-hearted and less dark. They talk about the power of friendship a lot though.
