Well, from what I'm understanding, Megaupload's takedown had nothing to do with SOPA, actually.

Nah, SOPA's been shelved for the time being actually. Megaupload was closed on a series of charges, one of which was money laundering. There's actually a pastebin transcription of the announcement why somewhere, but I'm a little too lazy to find it at the moment...

I see, I only read a news from here. The recent protest of Anti SOPA made me think it was the cause.
