Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
He's of average height for a Japanese teenager, around 5'5" or 5'6". He's pretty thin, too.
2. How old is he?
16 17
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
Yuki carries himself quite well. Like a Prince.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
His health is somewhat frail, but he's in good condition most of the time. He's had asthma since he was small, but he's very slowly outgrowing it. Being a martial artist automatically means he's pretty fit, yes?
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Totally graceful. Like a Prince.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
Canonly, Yuki is drop dead gorgeous and a little girly to boot. Not only do all the girls want him but the guys want him, too. While Yuki does acknowledge he's a bit "handsome," he hates how girly he is.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
A "healthy" pale color.
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
Shigure makes fun of Yuki's hairstyle! Even though it's similar to Akito's. It's a slate gray color, much longer in the front than it is in the back. He has some pretty long bangs, too.
9. What color are his eyes?
Gray or purple, depending on which medium you refer to. I pick purple.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
...He's the rat. Of the Zodiac. But only sometimes.
11. What are his chief tension centers?
Idek. He tends to stop moving instead of making some sort of obvious movement. If I had to pick, though, I'd say his eyes and his mouth. Oh, those wide, terrified eyes.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Yuki is very fond of Chinese clothing with mostly neutral colors.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
They fit him well. A little too well. And yes, he seems comfortable in them. And sexy.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
He seems to dress appropriately for the occasion? Uniform to school (not like he has a choice), Chinese wardrobe for most activies, a bit more formal for serious business.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
...I want to say boxers. If only because it makes him feel manly. But somehow I think I'd be wrong.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Yuki has a girly voice to match his girly appearance~
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
That depends on who he's talking to. Generally, he speaks smoothly and confidently, but it's a very well put-together façade.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
Surprisingly (or at least to me), Yuki's speech is pretty casual. He doesn't add honorifics to people's names unless they're girls, but he does tend to address most people by their family names. He uses "ore" instead of "boku" (shocking, I know) and gets really impolite when he's speaking to Kyou.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
Japanese! Fluently, I hope.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
He's a typical Japanese boy, so he does switch dialects depending on the amount of respect he's supposed to be showing for the other individual.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
It depends on the situation. He seems to need to think about them usually, but at times they just gush right out.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Very eloquent, which isn't all that surprising. He does have that "Can't spit it out" syndrome when talking to Akito or Tohru, though.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
Very much so, but not ridiculously so, either. Definitely a book-smart type.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
Both. Depends on the situation. It's usually the latter, but it never takes too long.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Logical and practical... but sometimes idealism slides in there.
4. What kind of education has the character had?
Just up to high school. He's still a teenager, though, so give him a break. (He does go to university later, though!)
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Everything. Except for cooking. He's a lucky Rat. He does have a certain affinity for plants, though--they make him feel needed.
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Introvert. So introverted it's funny. To some people.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
How he feels on the inside is different than the outside. On the outside, he's full of sunshine and rather laid-back unless Kyou or Akito are involved. On the inside, he's rather lonely and afraid of rejection. He very rarely lets it show, though.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Yuki's a little shy, but he generally also has enough fake!confidence to come off very social.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
I think it's 50:50, mostly? I'll go for react, though.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Flight. Flight, flight, flight.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Deadpan, usually. He usually resorts to physical humor, although it's not exactly funny to anyone but him and the readers.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
...Canonly? No. But he is pretty screwed up mentally. I could peg him as having social-anxiety disorder pretty easily.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
...All of them. Taking 7 years to make a friend and then on the same day have Hatori erase their memories so it was like he never existed was pretty traumatizing. That was what made him stop taking the initiative to make friends. Later on, when Yuki found Tohru when they were children and led her back home--that gave him hope that maybe he did have a use after all.
14. What does he fear?
Akito and rejection.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
He wants to be free of the Curse. Yuki also wants to be "his own person," to be responsible for himself and make his own decisions.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
The fact that he turns into the Rat of the Zodiac.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
Relationship? What relationship? His parents SOLD him to Akito. His father was distant and his mother didn't give a flying crap about him. Yuki's mother even told him (and everyone else) that Yuki's never had a single useful thought in his entire life.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Yes, his older brother Ayame! Although Yuki doesn't hate his brother, he definitely can't stand him. Ayame is far too energetic and loud for Yuki. He doesn't really understand his brother, but he does do his best.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
The other members of the Zodiac. He's close to most of them except for Kyou and Akito. Most of his family wears him out, but he still likes them well enough.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Tohru Honda, whom he considers to be a motherly figure.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Tohru~ They met when Yuki ran away from home despite his asthma and led her back home.
6. Does he have other close friends?
Not really. He does become friends with the members of the student council later on, though.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
Yuki himself says he has trouble being friendly and he most definltey has trouble making friends. Even so, everyone sems to like him.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
...Er. This is a hard one. Family, since he considers Tohru, and later on Machi, to be part of his family.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Single.
10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Nope.
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
Tohru.
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
Someone who understands and accepts both him and his Curse.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
No, he doesn't. He's a TEENAGER. Geeze.
14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
Kyou x 9000.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
Straight. So very straight. No, he isn't having secret sex with Hatsuharu or having a Slap Slap Kiss with Kyou.
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
I don't... think Yuki has thought about sex at all. I doubt it's very important to him.
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
...What? Yuki gets turned on? OH WAIT HE DOES! Yuki really likes girls in big, fluffy, adorable dresses that make them look like cute princesses.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (Zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
Okay this is funny. He's. The friggin'. Rat. Of the Zodiac. He exhibits the traits because he EMBODIES the Rat of the Zodiac. Although, I think he might have been born in the year of the Rabbit?
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
Neither, I don't think. So not all that important.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
Eh, I guess. Be honest and fair and don't let idiots take advantage of innocent girls. Yuki's... kind of always been that way, and I don't think it will change.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Mostly curious and tolerant.
5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
All cats are stupid creatures. Whether or not it's a good reason depends on how much you like Kyou. But yes, his hatred of cats his rather irrational. What's a Rat to do?
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
His family is very wealthy. He himself doesn't have any money, though.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
As the first member of the zodiac, he's just one step beneath Akito. Even in high school he's popular and is currently the president of the student body.
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
With Shigure. In what looks like the woods. It's a small house that is in constant repair because he and Kyou and Kagure keep tearing it apart. So, Yuki lives with Tohru, Kyou, and Shigure, but other people often to visit. Mainly from the Sohma family or Uo and Hana.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
Books and seeds/plants.
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
Go to high school. Yes, he's good at it, and I imagine he does enjoy it.
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
Yuki spends a lot of his free time gardening or practicing martial arts.
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Yuki is the pickiest eater ever, not that he has a right to complain since he can't even cook for himself.
