I'm pretty sure that he was reacting to "shape in a window in a space where he often sees birds, therefore it must be a bird." I doubt there was any deeper thought that than that. His vision is not ideal--he has some depth-perception issues--and he has amply demonstrated in the past that he's not overly gifted in the intelligence department. I thought it was adorable, but see also the title of the post. :)

Kaga has had no reaction to this splotch at all. Either he simply hasn't noticed it--which would indicate the capacity to selectively exclude unimportant data--or he recognizes that it isn't something worthy of his attention, which would indicate a certain level of deductive reasoning capability.
