I spent yesterday feeling pretty much horrible, with a really tenacious and upsetting headache and a level of fatigue that was off the chart even for me. The headache thing seems to have been somewhat widespread among folks around here; I think it might have been the weather (that nasty humidity we had for a few days and then the abrupt change out

Jack just loves George Carlin; has numerous recordings of his, and I think--in addition to finding him irresistibly funny--identified with how Carlin saw himself not as a cynic, but as a "disappointed idealist".

I was very downhearted when I saw the headline this morning, not only because I liked Carlin myself, but because I know how sad Jack will be.
