I've been toying with the idea of unscreening the entry posts after the winners have been chosen. The purpose of this would be if anyone really liked one of the icons in the competition and wanted to use it. This way they could know who made it and credit accordingly. What do you think? I should have thought it was up to the icon makers to make their icons available for snaggling as they want to.

Good point. What if we made it optional? 80% of the makers think it would be a good idea, but I don't want to force it on people who don't want theirs unscreened. If we said "We'll unscreen entries after voting concludes, please let us know if you'd rather we not unscreen yours." What do you think?

As long as the makers think it's fine that's all that matters.

I think unscreening would be good - as you say you could always make it optional.

Or if you make it clear you'll unscreen them afterwards I don't see why people couldn't just add a line at the beginning/end of their entry posts to say "feel free to snaggle, credit to..." or "no snaggling thanks" as it were. My tuppence worth :)

Sounds good to me. That seems to be the general consensus. People like the idea, but a few are worried that we need to make sure it's okay with the makers. So as long as we let them know ahead of time and give them the option to bow out, I think I may try it in a few days, once I've gotten caught up from being out of town.
