I think it's never too late to be more friendly and approachable if you want to make those social connections.

Try icon battling for example. Perfect way both to socialize and have fun with icons :]

Amen to that. THAT is why I want so badly to get in one day - to be part pf the spirit of creativity flying around there like no place else. But until then, I'm beyond happy just watching and being impressed every time a click a link.

hee I love that my icons are all over the banner because it makes me feel like compliments towards the comm are compliments towards me (even though they're fairly definitely not because I never enter there)

Hey, if you've done it once, why wouldn't you be able to do it again? You won't like every single icon post you make this much, but surely some of the future ones will be awesome as well. :)

I don't want to sound -vain- but I think this every time I make an icon post and the next one is always usually better! So if you keep making, you'll keep improving.
And even if you have a few misses, I'm sure you'll learn things along the way!
