These are all so lovely. marcasite #2 is just gorgeous, I love the crop and those deep pops of color equanimity23 25 is ridiculously gorgeous. daynawashere 28 has a really lovely softness and I love the stars in 45!
Thank you very much! #28 I actually had to blur because the colouring made it look too sharp - so that would be the source of the softness xD It's nice to hear you like it! And I'm glad you like the stars in #45, I made an alternate without them and I was debating which to use - I feel more confident with my choice now :D
marcasite: YOUR CROPS, BB. EVERY. DAMN. TIME. Ugh, teach me your ways. I love everything, but specifically, 2, 17, 18, 31 and 32. I want to talk about 31 because WOW. Not only is it a close crop, which you know makes me all hot and bothered, but it's OLIVIA and the coloring is just fabulous. It's got light and just a little shadow, and for some reason I love that you kept her wrinkled collar in the crop. Somehow it just makes it so REAL and in the moment. #2's darker bolder color is fabulous and again, your cropping, just STOP IT ALREADY (except don't EVER).
equanimity23: 7, 10, 23, and your entire last row are fantastic! 7 is so crisp and smooth and I love the cropping. I like the gold color in 10, and the blues in 23 with the composition is lovely. I love love love the crop on 36, 37 and 38 are so interesting and I love how you focused on Olivia and made this crazy frame around her with that texture. LOL @ 39! Very nice!
daynawashere: I love all of them, especially your black and whites, but all your icons have this softness to them that is so
( ... )
Thanks so much for the specificity! The blue in #15 was a last minute choice, and it's nice to hear that you like it! Pssshh, Amy's face is always pretty, I certainly had nothing to do with that! xD And oh, I love hearing that you like the crop on #41, that's reassuring! I was having a lot of trouble cropping that cap so I eventually decided to just wing it. Glad that you like it!
Thank you so much, bb! 31 definitely came out exactly what I wanted and that was the icon that I experimented with the Artistic filters in PS. I think at the very end I filtered to paint daubs and set @ soft light and lowered the opacity and it gave it the glowy effect. Yay
I'm glad you enjoyed #39! I couldn't remember the scene it was from but Olivia's little frowny face made me LOL so I attempted to do something funny. :D
*FLAILS!* Ahhhhh, I've been so looking forward to seeing all our icons posted, and you two both did such AMAZING things with the caps!!!! Having worked with all the caps myself, I have big appreciation for how you guys worked with them and I am BLOWN AWAY :D :D
marcasite (*waves* Oh hey Michelle!!! :D), #1 is LOVELY! I love the lighting and the way you brought out the yellow with your colouring. She blends very nicely with the background. Doing such a negative space crop in #2 really emphasized her fabulous red lips. It looks great! I love that you rotated the cap in #4 - it gave you all kinds of new and creative cropping options :D I really like the way you did a side crop for #17, you cut it off in just the right place! It was also a really cool idea to have a blue bar at the bottom of #19, it allowed you to crop her head at a very flattering place, AND add some negative space! Very nicely done! I also LOVE #31! The crop is really pretty, and oooh, the colours! Love the pink and blue! I like that you kept the red of the original cap in #33

Thank you for such a lovely comment. I was excited by this challenge and I tried to find new ways to approach them (like using Artistic filters and such). I think all the caps were interesting and more than easy to work with (lol, you don't have to apologize for 33 haha then I should apologize for #13's cap).
WOW, thank you sooooo much for the awesome and detailed feedback! Getting to work w/both Doctor Who and Fringe caps was great and you guys picked awesome caps to work with! Out of curiosity, do you remember what scene Olivia and the toothbrush is from? It made me LOL when I first saw it but I totally don't remember it on the show.
It so cool to see how three different people interpreted the same screencaps!
I'm glad to hear my icons called creative. I think I always push that much harder for battles/icontests. I tried working on experimental (for me, anyway) compositions and texture usage and I'm glad the results are being well received! :D
BTW, I absolutely love the Eleven/Amy/Rory icon you used w/your comment.
marcasite-I love your cropping and coloring! I really like 1, 2, 5, 16, 18, 20, 31 (great crop!), 32 and 35.
equanimity23- You have such great color and cropping. I love your composition (hello #10!). I really like 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 22, 23, 24, 25 (love the colors in this one!), 37, 38 and 40.
daynawashere-I love, love your cropping especially your close crops (I always find close crops awkward to attempt). You have such great use of color and negative space. I really like 11, 23, 14, 15, 26, 28 (the purple is beautiful), 30, 42, 43 and 45.
DAYNA, ILY FOREVER FOR THESE ICONS. FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER. 12, 26, 27 AND 44 ARE SERIOUSLY GO AMAZING I WANT TO HUG THEM AND ADOPT THEM AS MY FRIENDS. THE WAY YOU GET YELLOWS/PINKS TO JUST POP OUT IN YOUR ICONS ASTOUNDS ME, I'M FORVER MAKING THIS :O FACE.
MICHELLE, I ABSOLUTELY ADORE YOUR FIRST ICON. IT'S BRIGHT, HAS A GREAT NEGATIVE SPACE AND A LOVELY GLOW AROUND LIV. ALSO, THE CROP OF 2 IS SO CREATIVE AND THE COLOURING REALLY COMPLIMENTS IT.
OTHER SARA (HI! I'M ALSO SARA), YOUR ICONS HAVE REALLY FUNKY COMPOSITIONS AND YOU HAVE SUCH A GREAT USE OF WARM COLOURS IN THESE ICONS. 25 IS SO STUNNING, THE VIBRANCE AND CROP ARE REALLY EYE CATCHING.
I ONLY KEEP THE ALL CAPS ON WHEN I'M HAPPY. AND I'M VERY HAPPY RN :D
Hi! So many Saras! Thanks for the feedback and all the capslocking! I'm glad my compositions worked for you, I've been working on making them more interesting. :D

I'm glad the colors in #25 worked! The cap is very blue tinted so getting all those colors in there took a lot of patience/layers! :D
BTW, I ♥ your Jane Erye icon (the colors are so pretty)!
