well if u wanted to know about coloring its not really hard :)
thats what ive done (sorry my ps is not in english so ill translate all the menu myself so dunno if u understand what options i meant :/ ...but i still hope u do):
1.take your base, if its too dark then duplicate and set to screen
2.got layer->new adjustment layer->hue/saturation and put saturation on some like +15 (its actually really depends on picture ...u may also dont even need that step)
3. again go to layer->new adjustment layer->selective color (do not touch not stated colors):
Reds:
blue -100
yellow +100

Yellow:
blue -100
yellow +100

Neutrals:
blue +100
yellow -35 (that also really depend on pic)

^actually this color options may variate ..again depends on pic :)

oh and btw u can also play with light blue or light orange layer set to colour burn (this layer must on top of everything)...sometimes it gives more deep and cool color ;)
