Ok, I didn't know you had Mac until you edited your post, sorry.

Use VLC Player to make screen caps of any video (mov, wma, avi ect.) on MAC and Windows.

Personally, when I'm making caps, I use The KM Player. It's freeware, and it's awesome for capping. Right-click the screen, go to Frame: Extract, set that all up, then just play the clip and hit start, and it'll do it all for you. :)

Well, I have a Mac and I only download .avi Quicktime files because they are usually very good quality and easy to screencap with:

1. Pause your video where you want to screencap it.
2. Use the left and right arrow keys (the ones with two arrows on it) to go through frames.
3. Use Control+C to copy
4. Open a new document in Photoshop and do Control+V
5. This tutorial is what I go by for making the animated icons

You'll need to convert the .wmv file to QuickTime .mov. I'm pretty sure ffmpegX can do that. If not that application, try EasyWMV. After you've done that, you'll want to import the video to Photoshop:

File > Import > Video Frames to Layers

To work with the animation, you should switch to Window > Workspace > Video and Film
