I'm using Adobe ImageReady CS2, and it won't allow me to open up video files, instead it displays this message:

Whenever that happens to me, it's to do with a missing codec. Now don't take my word as gospel, but I noticed the paid version of QuickTime never have trouble, whereas the free software opens considerably less files in ImageReady... So upgrading wouldn't help, but purchasing might... :/

I've never come across this problem and I use the free version on Mac. Do you mean that you can't upgrade to a newer free version or just can't update to a paid version?

If you are meaning you can't upgrade to a registered version, then I think it's time to update your software.

I meant that because I run on Windows 2000, I'm unable to upgrade to version 7 as it needs Windows XP, otherwise I would have upgraded already
