Make This:
from This:

1.
Open a new file, 100x100 pixels. Fill it with some shade of grey. 2.
Find your quote. If you recognize this one, kudos to you. I used Arial Black, in all caps. In white, type your quote line-by-line, ajusting the font size to completely fill the space. 3.
I wanted emphasis on the second "very," so I used the same font size and italicised it, and got rid of the underneath one. 4.

I wanted some detail, so I searched Google Images for "splotch" and found that image. I put it in greyscale, inverted the colour (ctrl+i), and played around with the levels. And rotated, resized, etc. I moved it over to the corner & set it on "screen" at 100% 5.

Using some fitting colours, I made a new layer & used a linear gradient. That layer was put on "screen" at 100%. 6.

I flattened the image and put a 1 pixel stroke all the way around in white. DONE!

Okay, now it's your turn. You don't have to do it exactly like that. Play with font. Play with colour. Put the gradient on a different blending mode. Make the background a colour other than grey. HAVE FUN.
