here The first thing I did (obviously) was crop the image and desaturate it. Poor Hermione. Anyways, afterwards I duplicated the base twice and set it to screen. I made another duplicate and set that to overlay. I don't remember the opacities exactly, but it all really depends on your image. Try to make it bright and stuff. Merge all layers. Next, I took
this texture by
peoplemachines. I set it on top, stretched it out using the deform tool [
] and set that layer to lighten 88%. Then I duplicated the base and set it on top, setting it to softlight. I duplicated the softlight layer. Took
this frame by
iconistas and desaturated it. Then pasted it on top as a new layer set to lighten 100%. I resized and positioned it using the deform tool. Merge all layers. You should have ended up with something like this:
Sexy, isn't it?
Next, I opened up a new canvas (515 x 332), filled it with the color #f9ecda and pasted the photo on top as a new layer. I wanted the image to be mirrored, so I went to image >>> mirror. I placed it on the left side of the canvas. I took
this texture by
tre-xture and I cropped out the part that looks like torn paper. I pasted it on the image as a new layer below the cedric/chang photo. I made a new layer at the top and filled it with #030a14. Set that to exclusion and duplicated that layer, setting the second exclusion layer to be at 40% opacity.
I took my selection tool and selected a rectangle on the left side. Then I filled it with
this pattern that I got from
squidfingers. Afterwards I made another rectangle next to that and filled it with #9d1b23.
I took
this brush by me and put it as a new layer set to darken. Then I took another text brush by
xxkitty-katexx (found
here) and set that to darken as well.
Finally, I took
this texture by
gender and set it to multiply, using the deform tool to resize it and place it where I want it.
