An easy (if not lengthy) coloring tut

May 30, 2006 19:37

Another tutorial.

 is what we're making.

 -->

1) Crop your icon and sharpen it if you need to. Then duplicate your base twice. Set the 1st layer on screen (mine was on 30%) and the second on soft light (mine was on 45%). Depend on your base, the opacities will be different, so play around until it looks good.

 -->

2) Create four new layers. Flood fill the first with #e1ceb3 and set it on multiply at 85% opacity. Flood fill the second layer with #e6c89f and set it on color burn at 70% opacity. Then flood fill the third layer with #000023 and set it on exclusion at 100% opacity. Finally, flood fill the fourth layer with #f9ebd8 and set it on multiply at 100% opacity.

 -->

3) Now dulicate your base and drag it to the top of your layers. Set it on screen at 35% opacity.

 -->

4) Now paste in
 and set it on lighten at 100% opacity. Then paste in
 on screen. Type some text on the screen layer.

All done! If you have any questions, please ask. And I would love to hear your feedback and see what you've made. x)
