Pinkish coloring on dark skin

Go from this
 to this
in GIMP.  (Easily translatable; if it's not, then I think I fail at life.)  By the way, that's Angelina Johnson from HP4. =)

1.) First, crop the image.  Sharpen as needed.  But don't oversharpen, kthx.

2.) I used regular (non-color) curves to make the base image look softer.  (I put the curve near the center, but kind of to the upper left.)

3.) Create a new layer and flood-fill with a soft pink.  I used f6cdcd.  Set the layer mode to Overlay, 20%.

4.) New layer; flood-fill with soft purple.  I used fdcfff.  Set the layer mode to Burn/Color Burn, 100%.

5.) Yay, another new layer.  Set the mode to Grain Merge at 100%.  This time, you'll be pasting in a texture.  I used this one from Hybrid Genisis and resized/cropped it to fit the 100x100 frame.  (Or, if you're smart, you'll crop it so that the only part the texture is covering is the brown wall beside her, as well as maybe a bit of hair/shoulder.)  Then, erase the parts that cover her up, because it looks gross when she's got lines all over her.

6.) Lastly, use whatever brushes you want. I kept my brush on the same layer as step #5 so that it'd have the same effect that the texture did.  My brush is also from Hybrid Genesis.

I'd love to see what you come up with, and feel free to play around with it a bit.  It's a very simple tutorial, but I think the effect is really pretty. =)

EDIT: I may not fail at life, but I do fail at LJ cuts.  Everything's fixed now.
