To get 
Resize
to 100x100 pixels.
First, we duplicate our image three times. Set the two middle layers to screen, and the top most to multiply.
Layer>Flatten Image. Sharpen once.Duplicate the base image again. Then we go to Image>Adjustments>Hue & Saturation. I brought my Saturation to 40%.
Duplicate this layer. Go to Filter>Gaussian Blur. Set the blur radius to 1.0. Then set this layer to color burn at 50%.
And you're done. You can use this method of coloring for various things. You don't always need two screen layers, and you can always toggle between the the saturation percent, the multiply opacity, and so forth.
