Now make sure that your foreground color is set on black and the background color is white. Then go to LAYER>>NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER>>GRADIENT MAP. Set the mode to Normal and then click OK. Then do it all over again, this time setting the blend mode to multiply.

  My icon so far

Brush from Bruno’s HoneyPot. http://www.ancient-secret.de/brushes.html (you'll see this is one of my favorite set of brushes, I use them A LOT!)

On a new layer, take the brush in white, scaled down to about 125 or so and cover up your base a little bit. You want it covered, but not thickly…you still want to be able to see some of your base through it.

Then on the same layer, take the same brush except in black and cover the middle white part.

Then set that to screen. You could also use a layer mask for this step or use the eraser with the brush that your using to take the middle part out.

  Color 95%
(if anyone know the creator of this gradient, please let me know so I can properly credit)

Soft Light 56%

tiny text on a new layer in black, rotated 90 degrees CW and move to the right side of your ocon

On a new layer I add my text at the top left of the icon. Agency FB at 11pt. I write Undertaker in all capital letters. I duplicate the layer.

This brush again from Bruno's vintage Grunge set. In black and scaled down to fit you icon.
I rotate it 90 degrees CW and place it on the bottom of my icon in that little white space.

Now you could stop there or you can go one step further and add this texture from
yumei_k's  paper stuff collection.

I mirrored it and set it to Linear Burn at 100%

And that's it, all done :)
