1. Make the animation as small as possible, having the whole 100 x 100 square/or 100x 60/70px and bigger ALL animated is a bad idea, and will result in a very large file size (crop it to a smaller size) smaller pixel size (less than 100 px) = smaller file size. 2. Delete identical frames, or frames that are almost identical. less frames = less file size. 3. Make the whole animation black and white. less color = less file size.
I tend to go for a 70/55 or 70x60 size and even then it takes some fiddling. You have to tweak it and see what works. I still do that and I've been animating since last year.
Actually one of the frames at the start can probably go. It might take you down to 39KB instantly.
Smaller animation size, reducing the no. of colours (128 instead of 256 or even 64 to make it even lower). All that helps. If its B/W you can get away with lowering the number of colours to 128 or 64 even and the drop in quality won't be so obvious. I did that for a bunch of animated icons recently and it worked just fine.
I have that prob but I just pull out frames one by one and tweak it. You'll get the hang of it, I'm sure. :)

Ok then, I'll make versions of it with the actuall animation being smaller on a solid canvas, to make them fit LJ standards . . .
And yeah, she's right, makes sense if you think about it . . . *nods*
I took a few out, and am almost there, though not quite (around 60KB or something) but I'll figure something out, thanks to you guys!! :-)
