Colouring Help!!

Okay so I need some help.
I have PS7 by the way.
I have been editing my pictures with the tutorials on here and I try them out and all my pictures are turning out way too dark.
I try to mess with them to get them to do what I want and it just looks unprofessional and not very good quality.
So what I am asking is if I could get anyhelp or tips or ( Read more... )

is duplicate layer, set to screen once, do a saturation layer to bring up the color as you like it, then use the dodge tool to brighten the areas of the face want as above, and then erase over the eyes, hair, shadows, etc. Erase any area back to the darker, more saturated version, using varying strengths. Finally use the smudge tool around the whiter parts of the face and finish with a soft blur at a low threshold. Here's what I mean:

this is almost exactly what i was looking for. well the look i was looking for. i know the first one is kind of bad quality I kind of messed up with that one when i resized it. but that is really the look i was going for thank you very much! =D

yeah i know the picture is really bad quality and ive kind of figured that out. the picture was crap to begin with. Espically when I resized it. the resolution is all off.
