Happy July everyone, it's time for round 7 of Ask the Maker here at icon_talkHere you'll get the chance to ask icon makers who sign up questions about their icons and other graphics. You can ask for tutorials, guides/"How to", or ask any other questions related their work so these makers can create a Q&A post with the answers to all the questions they get

What can we request from you (tutorials, Q&A, guides etc. .PSDs are not allowed: Q&As are preferred, but I could also do some brief tutorials or identify elements in icons, etc. Pretty poor at writing general guides though :/ I still owe some tutorials from AtM 6.0 so there will be a bit of a delay while I finish those before I get to anything else.

I really love your coloring of Disney screencaps, can you write a general tutorial about your coloring? Especially I love these two:

I really struggle with general guides :( I could try and identify the elements (gradients, textures, etc.) that resulted in the colours of those icons (and any others if you want), but I'm afraid that's the most I could manage re: general colouring :/

I'd love to know a little bit more about your text process. As you said you don't like writing general guides I'm dropping a few questions just in case they are easier.

1. What are your favorite fonts?
2. What are the reasons that make you think "hey, this icon needs text"?
3. Is there any particular process you follow when you use text on your icons?
4. This is not a question but I'd like to know more about your "text-background icons". Here are some examples:
