It's time to kick off our 4th round of Ask the Maker! here at icon_talk

Here you'll get the chance to ask icon makers who sign up questions about their icons and other graphics. You can ask for tutorials, guides/"How to", or ask any other questions regarding their work so the makers can compile a Q&A post with the answers to all the questions they get. As

What can we request from you (tutorials, Q&A, guides etc. .PSDs are not allowed: Ok, I'm a newbie at this and my time varies... so I'm more inclined to Q&A and general guides, or specifics on certain aspects of icons rather than full tutorials, but I might be able to make one or two of those, so ask away~

Oooh. I think it would be nifty to see some sort of cropping guide from you if you're up for it! Your close crops, particularly, are really lovely, and you pick such interesting angles as well. For instance,

Ok, tbh, I didn't know what I could say about crops, but apparentely I still managed to vomit words out? I hope this is somehow useful and not a mess and etc.
It was, actually, very insightful (?) for myself, so thank you for requesting it!.

the font of that icon would be Roadway :D!
Fonts, I♥fonts. Surely will do that.

And I can definetely do the last icon, and probs the first one too. The second one, however, it's a crop out from a tumblr graphic, and I don't tend to save what I do to those and usually never go the same way so I have no idea of what I did. I hope that's ok :D

Ok, I'm working my way through the first two slowly but surely, and anyway, that one is particulary ... messy. used tons of layers, turned on and off lots of layers, merged, used merged layers, turned on and off a lot of layers. It's basically a weird sum of selective colouring, random gradients & some textures (with lots of focusing on yellows and blues).

What I can offer though, is to answer questions or giving tips about anything in particular you'd like to know about it. And add it with the rest :D

I'm working on the first and I hope I'll be able to get it done for next week. (I'm waiting to be able to post some icons for the font list so I'm waiting for that too.

Ok, so I finally finished it, sorry for the wait. it took longer than expected to be able to use some of the icons for the fonts and then I was kinda busy, but here you are. both the tuto for ~pretendtobehuman & a font selection :D
