snow envy

Snow to the north of us, snow even to the south of us, but here in our little pocket of the Piedmont, the forecast is 100% chance of ice pellets for the next 48 hours.  "Ice pellets" -- ?  I've never seen that one in a forecast before, but it's all too accurate.

"Ice Pellets" is like sleet, but bigger. Really, it's hail, but since hail can only happen during unusual summer-time weather conditions...

Thanks for the offer -- I'd be very tempted to take you up on it, but the face-to-face meeting has been cancelled in favor of a webconference. I skipped class this morning because the first several miles of the drive are rural and there was 1/2" of ice on my driveway, so I'm grateful not to face driving to the airport this evening ...
