Across the great divide

I've mentioned that over the course of my career I've both attended and taught professional courses.  I'm struck by just how different the process is in those classes versus the classroom I'm sitting in twice weekly at the U.

Looking around this morning, I noticed that

Fascinating observations.
In Grad School I often felt that a class with lots of interaction, while fun, meant I wasn't really learning anything--as if the discussions were a distraction from the serious business of learning the topic at hand. Now, in my professional courses, I feel I'm learning so much FROM the discussions. I am also much less concerned with saying the correct thing in a course than I ever was in School.
and I definitely agree that being in school was a job.
I'm glad you're enjoying the course.
