I decided to inaugurate a new LJ icon for my MotM character! This post, albeit late, is the follow up I mentioned I would provide in my previous commentary on MotM ( Read more... )

*raises hand*

What is MotM standing for? :D

I doubt I'd be able to get a character there (hardly have any time at all to MU* anymore), but I might like to drop by and check it out sometime. Addy?

Seconded!

I agree straight up here. It has been a total blast and is definitely making me reconsider my flagging Mu* career again. XD

I've been strongly considering taking a character there, but the fact that I can't make an OC somewhat limits me. While I understand their reasoning (as you pointed out), I do agree they need to find a better solution than the two month FC rule for those of us not comfortable taking FCs that we either feel we can't do justice/aren't familiar with.

I also rarely enjoy playing feature characters. I still intend to ditch my current one the moment I can app my Combat OC. I'm counting the days. :O

Two months to wait for a character isn't that bad. Just grabbing a feature that looks vaguely interesting enough to tolerate for two months isn't the worst thing ever. It does give you a structure you can figure things out with, so you can better impliment your OC when you are able to.

That, and there are plenty Capcom/SNK characters that are vague enough that you can grab one without worrying about 'canon' so much. Capcom especially, as the company can't even get its own canon straight. XD

Just grab someone you won't shoot yourself over playing for a couple weeks, then junk 'em when the time comes.

Huh. So it's not looked down upon to pick a character and then drop it? I'll have to take another look at it, then.

Well. 3:) durodragon April 11 2007, 23:14:42 UTC
Its probably not appreciated by the wizstaff to grab a character with full knowledge that you don't intend to keep them longer than two months, but that's the rigamorole they have for OCs.

I'm just going by the numbers to get my Combat OC. If there is other criteria, they haven't mentioned it to my knowledge. :3

Certainly, don't get a character that's important if its just an IC CSYS Training Device. The nichtier the character the better. I got like, the least important character in Street Fighter III and just running with that. XD

This was a very insightful and detailed review - exactly the sort of
thing I was hoping to read, and well worth waiting for. Thank you
very much!

Got a lot to mull over tonight.
