A/N: I don't even know why I wrote this. It's sort of fail. >__>;;
By the time Noriyama-sensei had finished yet another lecture about Very Important Things that would be Crucial to the next ranking exam, Sachi was well past ready for the normal class routine to end and the normal lunch routine to begin. Like clockwork, Ichigo bounded out of her seat, folding in around Meimi, and shoving a fashion magazine between them. Immediately a heated debate began over whether sequined leopard print bags would be the height of popularity this winter or if Ichigo's obsession with pink had finally poisoned her brain enough to kill its last functioning brain cell.
Sachi pulled out her laptop, scanning the news pages for ME, PSE, and WEE, actively ignoring Aya's sullen glare at her latest history test. Hatred for the world had been Aya's default state since sensei informed her of her 50-50 chance of getting into K University and it was clear that neither Aya nor her parents were pleased with the uncertainty this late into the year.
"Ah," Sachi blinked at the Midareteku Entertainment site. "New unit to appear at Ibawe taping..."
"EH?!" Ichigo and Meimi exclaimed as one, their heads snapping up from the mag instantly. The next moment, Meimi's cell phone lit up, vibrated, and twinkled out Akai Ito's newest single with a fervor that almost sent it off the desk to a gossip laden death. Meimi clapped a hand over it and her fingers flew to the keys, while Ichigo flailed between Sachi and Meimi.
"Do you think it's O-RLY's debut?! Hasue-kun is so cute!"
"It's a new unit, brainiac. This might be the merging of O-RLY? and Why Not? we were hearing noise about over the summer."
"I'm on the forum. Nezumipi's source says it's a new emo band called NO-NO-NO!"
"Nezumipi's 'sources' are the doujin from Mandrake," Meimi quipped.
"Tat-chan is getting the surveillance footing to see if there's any new groupings going in and out over the past couple days."
"But I don't want Why RLY!" Ichigo went on. "Hasue-kun is finally started to ero. I just want him to be happy where he is!"
"Will you all shut up? Some of us have our futures to think about," Aya snapped, busy trying to bury herself in text books.
"This is my future," Ichigo groused at the same time Meimi muttered "you’re the only one who needs to worry about their future."
Sachi's eyes stayed resolutely on the screen so that she didn’t have to see Meimi and Aya stare each other down. It wasn't worth getting involved when it happened nearly every day lately.
"Anyway," Aya continued haughtily, "you'll see whoever it is when you go to the taping. Since you have time for such trivialities."
Sachi stopped typing and looked up. Meimi's phone actually snapped shut and Ichigo moved his mouth soundlessly, a wild glint taking over her eyes.
Aya's mouth twitched into the closest she'd had to a smile in months. "You actually forgot that was this week?"
Throwing her arms around Meimi's neck, Ichigo laughed gleefully, and they all shared a look of anticipation.
They were going to meet ME's newest group. Sachi opened a new thread to gloat just a little.
