Hey, there's D&D in my t.v.!

I never watch NBC's 'Community', or network television series of any sort, but while watching the news earlier, I saw a commercial for tonight's episode: It was all about the cast playing Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. So of course I watched it ( Read more... )

That sound really intresting! I've always wanted to try playing DD, but I don't really no how or were to go to do it. Do you have to pay for it?

That really depends. If you find an existing group, then most likely not. (People are almost always happy to share their books, and even dice.) If you were to start up a group from scratch, then yes, you would want to by the books so you know what you're doing.

I've never used it, but there's a D&D Meetup site for locating groups in your area. Good luck.

That is really funny about Filia and Xellos. I bet Filia was trying to glare at him with a all her power.

Yeah, which is hard without a face. I'm going to be even sillier and wait until I need to paint on Xellos' face as well, that way they're on even ground. ;)

I LOVE Community!! I thought of you when I was watching it and was going to try and remember to suggest you Hulu it the next day. The LOTR-like beginning was awesome; I felt so sorry for Chang (and if you ever watch more than just that ep, you'll understand why that's a feat). Jeff's (Joel McHale's character - who my sis-in-law once met *jealous*) compassion was good to see too, since he's normally quite insensitive ( ... )

I actually canceled Netflix the other day, my free month is over. :( But, if I get curious, I'll have to check the show out more often. They were actually very respectful toward D&D itself, so if they're like this for other "nerdish delights," I'll have to check it out!

So...is Chang supposed to be the guy that nobody really likes, but no one wants to hurt his feelings, or what? And Joel McHale! Our wayward Washingtonian! Like Billy Nye, he used to be on Almost Live up here, so it's great seeing him make it on nationwide t.v.!

D= You canceled Netflix?! ^^ I wish I could to save money, but it's been my sanity-keeper lately. I've even watched Lost through again just because it makes good background noise and it's fun to poke my head up every once and a while and laugh at Hurley or feel sorry for John. The streaming option is just too good to let go of, especially considering I don't like working in silence and 99% of the stuff on when I'm awake is garbage ( ... )
