LazyLand, that's where XD;

Anyway, it's that time of year again when the musical auditions start. The play hasn't been announced yet, but I hear it's between Little Shop of Horrors (which I REALLY don't wanna do) and a tribute to Broadway, which I think would be AWESOME (depending on what we tribute, I suppose...). I'm gonna sing Poor Wandring One ( Read more... )

At the end of the fifth book, Harry remembers the mirror, and tries to use it, but it's too late. Not really a plothole, just Harry showing how dumb he is.

Just so you know, that's some serious singing skills you've got there. You would be casted in any musical my school puts on in a instant.

Thanks! If only the people doing the casting could think that, it'd be great XD;

My mom likes fantasy, so I've been trying to get her to read it for a loooong time. She started and quit once before and I finally convinced her to start again. She's been whining about JKR's killing spree though, lol.

Hey!

If you are unsure, you should talk to your teacher. Mine gave me Verdi once and, after a week, I told her that I couldn't handle it. If you ever feel overwhelmed by your rep., you should tell her because not even the best teacher out there knows everything.

Also, there are BEAUTIFUL Handel and Mozart pieces that would definitely suit your voice. I would love to hear you sing Handel's "V'adoro Pupille" or Mozart's "Giunse Alfin il Momento"! Those two are great for light voices (although they're a bit difficult technique-wise). Honestly, I think Handel and Mozart would suit your voice better than the more heavy rep. Not because of technique but because of your voice type.

Ooh, Poor Wand'ring one would be cool! Although, it WAS originally written for a dramatic coloratura. O_o But I know many light, broadway sopranos have sung it before.

AHAHAHAHAA! Butthole! XD

O Luce Di Qu'Est Anima doesn't feel too heavy for me...just really hard. It's not that it hurts my voice, it just seems like something a little too advanced for me, technique wise. Maybe that's good? I dunno. If it starts to feel like it's hurting me, I'll definitely stop.

Lol, my teacher wanted me to start Caro Nome but decided to do Je Veux Vivre instead because she realized it was waaay too much for me XD;

For DRAMATIC sopranos? Omg!! It really doesn't seem that way!

Hey! If it challenges you technically, it's GREAT! Can't go on singing really easy stuff and expect to learn, right? :D

O_O! Caro Nome is one tough cookie and so is Juliet's Waltz. SO MANY TRILLS!!!!

I know! I remember reading something about "Pirates". Apparently, G&A really did intend for Mabel to be a dramatic soprano. Who would've guessed? :D

I totally agree with you. I was really surprise when my teacher suggested we do arias like Oh Luce Di...etc and the Doll Song, because I thought I wasn't ready (and I wasn't). I suppose I could ask her if I should be doing easier stuff instead, but the thing is she knows what I can and cannot do. She considered starting Caro Nome, and later one of Michaela's arias from Carmen but then reconsidered because she knew that there was no way I could handle them. At first the arais are hard for me, but they don't particularly hurt me. In fact, Oh Luce etc helped me develop my middle, which is what she was hoping it would do when she gave it to me.

Anyway, I totally agree with you, and I've heard similar opinions from choir teachers, so I guess I should ask my teacher why we're not doing easier stuff. Thanks for the advice :]
