OMG! OMG!!!

I can't BELIEVE what happened today!

For the second part of rehearsal today, we were practicing the dance scene in the wedding when the Musical Director (a.k.a. our only chorus teacher) calls me up to the piano to tell me that he wants me to sing for the singer who also helps with the music part of the musical (but mostly works with only the leads ( Read more... )

Let me just tell you right now, you will do fine. Your technique isn't solid right now and that's understandable considering the amount of training you've had. But I have no doubt you'll do your best and that's good enough! :D Just remember, no one out there's wanting you to fail. No one wants to make fun of you. Also, PRACTICE! I mean practice obsessively if you need to. When I had to sing Sposa Son Disprezzata, I didn't feel remotely confident until I was practicing about 2 1/2 hours a day. I don't know if it's just me but...it worked. Oh! And remember that tip I told you about listening to crappy recordings? Listen to Hayley Westenra sqeak her way through "Whishing" or some other aria/song. It makes you feel more confident about yourself. Sounds really petty and dumb but it works.

Ugh. Sigh-reading/singing's a bitch. I barely got through that part in my CM. T_T *Is ashamed...*

Congrats on the compliments, girl! Keep it up! Best of luck on the musical! ♥

PS: I know you have issues with resonance and what-not but, I just wanted to tell you this: You've been taking lessons for a little over 6 months, right? Your main focus should be support and placement. Resonance comes later. I'm sure your teacher has worked on placement with you. Just focus mainly on that while practicing for this performance. If you want to work on resonance, go for it! But placement should be your main concern, remember that~

Best of luck, again! -xoxo-

Thank you! And I think I'm getting better with placement... Like, I'm getting better with higher notes because I'm getting better at finding the right place to put them in my mouth...etc... XD;. I've been trying resonance, too, but I don't think I'm getting too far... Oh well XD;

That's awesome! Good luck. Could you by chance post another recording of you singing? I really enjoyed hearing you sing Part of Your World in French. :)

Good luck! I tried out for my school's top choir a couple weeks ago and will know in May if I made it or not.
