Gwen gave me trouble because at the best of times I'm ambivalent about her. So thanks :D

Oh wow. This was an incredibly well done piece on Gwen's relationships. It made me think about that final scene in CoE day 5 with Jack, and for both I want to shake her for all her emotional cheating on Rhys.

I think if she hadn't done it in front of Rhys that scene wouldn't have bothered me as much, because I feel that it's very in character for Gwen to still want Jack because A. I think she's infatuated with him, and B. she's now lost everyone from Torchwood and Jack's the last one left so she has the right to be selfish and want Jack to stay (anyone would).
Thank you <3

...though if Jack actually *had* stayed, I might have put my fist through my computer. Just sayin'

That's what really pissed me off. Right in front of the man she married, the man she's having a child with, the man who loves her and puts up with all kinds of shit, she's going to pull the 'please don't leave me' shit. AUGH.

pitac89 (I think it was) put it really well: if there hadn't been all that subtext between Jack and Gwen in the previous two seasons, it wouldn't have been that bad. If someone for whom CoE was their first TW experience watched that scene they probably would see Jack as the bad guy (even more) for not staying. For everyone else who's watched a previous season (especially s2 KKBB, where Gwen starts to say to Ianto when she thinks she's about to die, "Tell Jack I--") you see Gwen trying to make a last ditch effort to get Jack.

Yeah, I don't think so Gwen.
