NOOO, not Eridanos!

Damn, finally I´m glad you found the problem, it´s really bad that it´s Eridanos. I hope someone can help you to fix it; for myself I have no idea to help you, I´m sorry.
And you´re right, in the worsest case write the story without the pics, a german colleagues does for the same reason and we all love her story though.

Oh, man....O___O

I am so, so sorry. All that time and work... ***hugs***

But I will definitely read text-only Eridanos if you go that route, too.

***hugs again***

Kind of a long shot here, and I'm sure you've already considered it: can you run Eridanos without Seasons? On another machine, maybe?

Well, I thought about that, but there's the problem of each new expansion changing the format of the game so that saved info is no longer compatiable with earlier versions. I've been poking about in the data for Eridanos and comparing it to the data in other non-corrupted neighborhoods. I've found some anomolies, so I'm going to try futzing with them a bit and seeing what happens. Hope is not lost yet.

But I thought you backed up copies pre-Seasons? So you'd be able to load it up to Pets, at least?

No matter what, I hope you're able to fix it!

Good point... *checks* Yesss, I -do- still have a pre-Seasons back-up. So maybe I can try running it elsewhere... I'll have to talk to Dino about what we have available as far as machines to run a full Sims game on... I don't think my laptop could handle all the expansions through Pets. Thanks for reminding me about that! Guess I've been frustrated enough to overlook the obvious.

*shakes fist at ?*

This is one of my biggest fears.

I'm so sorry you lost Eridanos. Maybe you'll find an answer? I hope so.

I'm so sorry. Sorry that you can't play Eridanos and that I won't be able to see your sims. But I'm glad that you found out what was making your game crash and that's a good thing.

Just a random thought, when you created Eridanos did you package the Brokes and the Grunts or did you clone them? I vaugely remember reading somewhere that if you package lots with sims on them and take them to another neighborhood it's basically counting down to doomsday. Just a thought of what "may" have cause that game to go bonkers.

I will definitely read text-only Eridanos if you end up doing that. A good story is a good story with or with out the visual effects of sims. ^_~

Oh, the Grunts and the Brokes were cloned. I know all about the problems with moving Sims from one neighborhood to another. It comes from them carrying along memories of other sims they've interacted with, who naturally wouldn't exist in the new neighborhood, so yeah... it is just asking for game implosion.

Both families actually still exist in their original neighborhoods in my game. The Brokes don't matter so much since I never play Pleasantview anymore (actually, Dustin was long since grown and married to a half-alien girl, and they had twins together). But since I do play Strangetown, the Grunts now all live in Sim Bin limbo, since deleting characters without removing a lot of extemporary data is dangerous as well.
