Dominic looks like bad news, but cute bad news...

Dustin's narration is really, really good. I get a really strong sense of who he is and what he's all about. Not just the facade that he puts up, but deep inside. No matter what happens, no matter what I got to do, I will always take care of Mom and Beau and the baby that’s coming. Always. I’ll be better than my stupid damned father.

Great story, I am very interested to see where you take Dustin.

I'm glad it comes across that Dustin has a facade and he's not just the typical selfish cool teen that he acts like, though I'll admit he does have some selfish tendancies, but I think that's par for the course with teenagers. Anyway, I'm getting the feeling that most of this series will be an exploration of the conflict between what's inside and what shows on the outside, for all four of the kids.

Thank you! Heh, actually it is very possible to see the layout, because I made the Broke's trailer myself (the other ones in the neighborhood were downloaded, mostly from the Sims Resource). It's actually modeled after the very trailer I lived in when I was a kid. ^_^

Anyway, for awhile I played around with the idea of making a Sims fansite (I've abandoned that notion, because I just don't have the time to futz with it), but a lot of the pages I put up are still there, and the trailer is on one of them. Go here:

I made some changes when I set it up for the Brokes, like removing the back door and putting up the railed half-wall between the kitchen and livingroom, but otherwise it's pretty much the same

I'm definetly going to download it! lol I like the idea of a trailor park because I need cheaper homes for my sims when they move out on their own :) I've made a few houses that I uploaded on thesims2.com, and was also contemplating starting up my own website for it, but I just don't have the time to build one, I'm always building houses, it's just easier for me to upload them on the sims 2 site itself :) lol

I really like the layout of the trailor :) It even has 3 bedrooms?! :) Awesome for a trailor...thank you for sending me the website address :) I really appreciate it!

Interesting. I get the impression that Dustin is putting on a huge tough-kid act, because his speech patterns (such as use of the word "avoidant") don't fit with the "Yeah, I'm down with the street!" patter. :) Like he's a smart kid who's afraid of showing it.

I feel really bad for this family, so I hope things look up for them soon. ^^;;

Ah ha! Both you and Pixel nailed it, which makes me feel better because I was afraid it wouldn't come through very well. But yeah, words in there like "avoidant" were put in intentionally. That's one of the reasons why I made a point of saying that the grammar and spelling in these entries are straight from the kids, because I'm going to try to give each of them a distinctive writing voice. And like I mentioned to Pixel, a lot of this story is going to be about inner feelings vs. outer facades.

As far as things looking up.... well, you know how it is when you're writing a story. Angst tends to win out over hearts and flowers. ^_~
