So, the skirt I ordered to wear for my wedding on the beach is the wrong color and size. I don't know what to wear now. There is a dress that I am in love with, but it's five hundred dollars. How can I justify spending that much money on something I'm only going to wear once. Please give me opinions on the outrageously expensive dress situation.

what sort of thing are you looking for? prehaps you can send the skirt back for another?

You could always make something pretty, go to a fabric store and find a pattern and make something...And also sometimes places like David's Bridal have very pretty dresses for 99dollars.

what what now??? why is it that this is the first that i hear of you getting married?????

i bet that you can find someone that does alterations or something and have them make a pattern out of the skirt you have and go buy some fabric in the correct color and have them take measurements so that it will fit you. and maybe it could be even better than the original. everyone knows someone who knows someone who does that sort of thing and i'm sure you could find a good deal.

Sorry about that. I would have said something sooner but there was (and still is) a lot of negative opinions and unsupportive people that appeared after we started telling people.... so we just stopped telling everyone... but! now you know :) oh... I miss you~!

Thank you guys for all of your great ideas. I am going to look around at different places as soon as i get back to southern Maine. Hopefully i will have some luck. If any of you are interested in coming to the whole shindig, its taking place on Friday, the 5th of August (less than two weeks away!) at night.
