Hotch is so old and slow he didn't take a 9 year old when he tried to slash him? Brother, please.

I don't care how much Hotch feels for the kid, he's gonna protect life before he worries about fixing the kid's trauma.

Okay, I understand where you're coming from. It's how I feel he'd deal with it. Your mileage may vary, and I'm good with that.

Remember Hotch is the guy who runs into burning buildings, or takes off his kevlar to talk to a serial killer in a psychotic break.

Right now I'm writing a suicidal Hotch story and it may have infected this one, but this is how I wanted to write it.
