The gym beardos! I feel like the one by my house is probably mostly old men and maybe the occasional zumba mom. I think all the beardos in town probably do crossfit so they can be super jacked and do the Tough Mudder competition.

I also started doing some dumbbell reps a couple of weeks ago and owwwww I hear you! I wish I had a sweet personal trainer to keep me on track because I definitely let it slip. And/or a personal chef! Bobby's sister went paleo, though in her case I have to say I think she's just picky ;)

Tumblr is my Pintrest. So addictive! I also just discovered Bloglovin - I can't yet tell if it's a blessing or a curse to be able to check all my fave blogs in one place.

I think my gym beardos have all turned into super jacked crossfit junkies. The Head Beardo still does weights alone, but I think they picked up several facial haired inclined brethern once crossfit got popular. That and the Grunters have just decided to meld in with them, probably in an effort to look cool.

I found out this week that the early morning hours are when the old men come to the gym. The little old ladies give you ugly looks when you're on the stationary bikes too long (30 minutes is not too long, ma'am!) and then they proceed to stand around and gossip instead of actually doing anything. The zumba moms hang out from 11:00 till three-ish, and then my usual post-5:00 work group comes in.

Beardo Brigade! I worked with a girl who was really into crossfit, and I will say - she was definitely CUT. We were all super impressed when she told us about doing chin-ups. My little arms quake even at the thought!

... Which probably means I should start getting off my butt haha

Oh, we went paleo about a year ago. What cookbook to you have? I'm always on the look out for new recipes. I thought of posting recipes but figured I would bored everyone to tears.

Uhmm...sorry I got a little spazzy there. You are the first person I know (yes, I think lj counts) that has gone paleo.

I've got Practical Paleo that I love. I've made a handful of things from them and everything I've tried has come out tasty. I recently picked up Everyday Paleo, which looks like it's geared towards family life, but I figured I could either scale the recipes down to single servings or make as is and have for the whole week.

A year in, how do you like it? This is only my third month going paleo and so far, the only thing I really miss is bread and cheese.

I'll have to see if the local book store carries Practical Paleo. I've tried some of Everyday Paleo from her website and it has been hit or miss, but I'll look that one up too ( ... )

I like the Paleo Parent website, but I haven't tried any of their recipes. For the most part, I've been doing all Practical Paleo for the past three months. Tonight's mustard glazed chicken thighs are one of my big rotation meals. I usually sautee up some spinach to go with, but I had some fresh squash that I steamed instead. We did a family sized pack of thighs, so there was enough for three people plus some left over to shred up to go on top of salads for lunch. IMO, it's one of those things that taste a lot better the second day.

Ooooh, cheese. I don't trust myself with dairy right now because I'm afraid of falling headfirst into the cheese aisle and undoing three months' worth of hard work. Shove pastries and candy in front of my face and I don't blink. Waft a bit of fresh baked bread and the promise of melty cheese and I'm a gonner, lol.

Hey, recipe swaps would be awesome! Thanks!
